I think it is incredibly important to keep those warriors who are unable to be with their families throughout the holidays due to their selfless service in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other tours of duty around the world on our behalf in our thoughts right now.. Feel a little less sorry for yourselves.  On Christmas morning, when you feel a little bitter getting up early, or cause its a little too cold, remember those who have to worry about a Christmas morning car bomb, and the families they will never see their son, daughter, brother, sister mother, father, and other loved ones they will never see for Christmas dinner again. Those men and women who have sacrificed their lives in defense of our country.

I love you. Thank you. You and your family our in my family’s prayers.

I’v been MIA.

Sorry for the lengthy down time, I have been fairly busy with life. Lots of good things going on.

I have a good pal of mine that is about to be going to Ranger School very soon. He could use all the support and prayers we have to offer. If you would like to know more about this man, he has a blog at http://www/ourarmylife.com, where he writes about the common trails his family, and him go through from day to day army life, to the trying times of training and deployments. An address for his Ranger school will be posted soon if anyone would like to send him letters or care packages.

Today while you go about your day to day life, please remember those men, and their families who sacrifice so much for our country, and our people. I’l update with Gabe’s RS address as soon as it becomes available.

Prayer Request!

Hey everyone, I have a favor to ask any of you who are spiritual, I have a pal named Gabe that’s currently in IBOLC (Infantry Basic Officer Leadership Course) that is about to graduate, then hes going to Ranger School. Hes sprained his ankle this week, and I’d like everyone to pray for a speedy recovery, and a strong spirit for him. Thanks guys.

The Pirate Bay

After all morning trying to get onto The Pirate Bay and getting a 404 each time, I decided to look into it. Apparently TPB’s internet service provider, Black Internet, cut its connection to avoid being fined by the Stockholm district court.

“The decision was made by the district court on Friday, but reached us today and we have decided to comply. … We are a small operator and we haven’t got the financial resources to pursue such a matter,” said Victor Möller, CEO at Black Internet, in an interview with Computer Sweden.

If the ISP refused, is would have been a 7o thousand dollar fine. What this mean for The Pirate Bay and its users? I don’t have a friggin clue, I hope this is another capitalist hiccup that fails as usual.  Meanwhile, Global Gaming Factory X is planning to acquire The Pirate Bay. Its shareholders will decide at a meeting Thursday whether the deal should go through. As long as the fate of TPB is up in the air, I’m not even sure the deal will go through.

Peter Sunde’s Twitter: The Pirate Bay will now file charges against Sweden for violation for Human Rights. More info later. (The bias-judge is himself biased..

Personally this happens to be devastating information to me, as I am an whole hearted user of TBP. Good Luck Guys.

Well mom, guess what…  People who wont buy me icecream or a sno cone today hurt my feelings.

I have a very good friend of mine that is currently attending IBOLC (Infantry Basic Officer Leadership Course), that recently did a gear review on the new Nike SF Boot. Unfortunately I haven’t had the opportunity to try them for myself, but he gives a very good insight on Nike’s new endevour. So please definitely take a look.

GMH: I recently picked up a pair of the new Nike Special Forces Boot for wear during IBOLC.  Based on the popular Nike “Free” sole, the Nike website describes the boot in glowing terms

Jury Duty.

0745   So, I’m at jury duty, and this is pretty whack, the questionnaire thing wanted to about absolutely everything. I have a theory that if you write sloppy on your registration, when it comes time to choose jurors, they will bypass me, assuming I’m an imbocile.  By the looks of the current crowd, there’s only a hand full of well dressed, intelligent people, the others look like the came from their GED practice test, or the county jail. GG. Another fine day in paradise. I better get some coffee out of this.

0906 after a speech and lame ass video, I’m still waiting.. Well at least I get to read a few more chapters of “Dracula” :)

0946 so during the video explaining the qualifications and disqualification or jury duty, some douche bag behind me kept answering the questions out load, in the same annoying, obnoxious, mono tome voice. I.E. “are you at least 18 years of age? “yes”, “are you of good moral character?” “questionable”, and so forth.. I wish I had a Jameson and cranberry…

1035 they finally released us all. No Trial.

So I’ve  gotten a new side arm, of course an XP 45. and now it’s time to get a new tactical light and laser. So this time around I’ve discovered a new laser/light combination that I have not seen before. Viridian, this company makes a very nice laser sighting system, they are unique because they are one of the few companies that use green lasers.  After doing my research collectively, I’ve been really impressed by the performance of the X5L. Up until now I have always used Surefire, of course Surefire has already been combat tested and is a great tactical light. So I’ve had a very hard time choosing which sighting system to buy, so I had to do a side-by-side.

the Surefire X 400. has a maximum output of 110 lm(lumens), as a runtime of 2.4 hours, a weight with batteries of 4.4 ounces. the X.400 has a durable, and low-profile laser integrated under the body. The laser is red, with a wavelength of 635 nm. Laser features a patented screw system, that does not back out during recoil, therefore please are rarely has to be re-zeroed. you can read more about the surefire X400 weapon light here.

The Viridian X5L  features an extremely bright green laser coupled with an LED tactical light in a compact design. The reason for a green laser is green is closer to the center of the visible spectrum, at 532 Nanometers, so it’s easier for our eyes to perceive the color vs. a red laser at 635 Nanometers. In fact, a green laser can appear as much as 50 times brighter than the red equivalent and as can be seen from the below charts 532 nm is the ideal wavelength to maximize visibility during day or night. So the Viridian has its strong points as well.

After I get my Viridian in, I’ll finish my comparison.

***Update*** So after trying out the new Viridian laser and light here are my conclusions:

The Surefire performed awesome as always, We actually did a live fire room clear several times, I switched out lights after 5 cycles. The Surefire’s light was white, bright and tight, very very effective, but after using the Viridian Green laser, I realized the Viridian’s lazer was soo much brighter than Surefire’s, but the Viridians light was not as great as Surefire’s. So all in all,  during close quarters combat, room clearing, or home defense, I’m choosing the Veridian.  Although Surefire will always have a place in my heart. <3
